Fast Food Revolution

FantAsia-Style-Aug

IN JUST THREE years, FantAsia is revolutionising people’s perception of food court dining, by dishing up premium, freshly prepared Asian cuisine in now five Brisbane locations.

The newest to join the fold is their Westfield Chermside store, which caused chaos when they gave away an entire tonne of Tokyo Beef on July 11 as an opening special. Hungry patrons from all parts of Brisbane flocked to the store, lining up all day for a taste of their most popular dish.

While Tokyo Beef is delicious, the steamed chicken with ginger and shallot pesto and super rice is a little lighter and full of flavour. For those that prefer a salad, Saigon lemongrass chicken is a great choice — fresh, flavoursome, spice-infused chicken, doused with herbs and seasoning collected fresh from the markets that morning. If it’s something a little more warming you’re after, it’s hard to go past one of their authentic curries, laksas, or wonton or dumpling soups.

Each curry paste, piping hot broth, as well as the noodles and dumplings are made from scratch on the premises, from fresh, premium ingredients.
The prawn wontons contain only fresh prawns, and are not minced with other products to pad out the filling. Head into the shopping centre early enough, and you may even see the tasty morsels being made by the staff.

Gregarious owner Judy Wong has worked for over 30 years in fine dining, and is incredibly passionate about bringing affordable restaurant-quality food to the masses. If the last three years are anything to go by, you can expect to see a lot more of FantAsia in Queensland – and perhaps the country.
